Is the font easily legible? If your template has tight small fonts consider how hard this would be for anybody to scan! Select an easy to read find like Arial and ensure it’s consistent throughout the whole resume.
The First Page
Take a look at the first page of your template resume, does it contain the following:
- A section where you can highlight the most important information about your career
- Does it have a section for your name, current position and company?
- Does it use large text to grab the reader’s attention immediately?
- Does it look modern with white space and clean presentation?
If resume is even missing some of these things your setting yourself up for disappointment.
In fact you could actually hurt your chances in getting a call from a recruiter for an interview.
